AREAS OF WORK
My work focuses on interpreting sustainability and due-diligence regulation, assessing their implications across value chains, and supporting the design and implementation of greening policies and carbon-finance mechanisms that enable private-sector transition.
Sustainability regulation and policy design
Regulatory frameworks can be misaligned with institutional capacity and firm reality, creating various compliance challenges.

I review and analyze sustainability and environmental regulation and related policy instruments, including EU and global frameworks such as CSRD, CSDDD, EUDR, and CBAM. For example, I review how regulations shape incentives, obligations, and risks for companies.

This work is relevant for policy makers, international organizations and private sector, seeking to navigate through complex and changing regulations, understand their impact, and consider how to manage risk and opportunities for different supply chain actors.

Firm, SME and supply chain implications
SMEs often face the greatest adjustment costs but have the least capacity to absorb regulatory complexity.
I examine how sustainability regulation and policy choices play out for SMEs and suppliers embedded in global value chains, with particular attention to feasibility constraints and adjustment pressures.
This includes mapping supply-chain risks and identifying where targeted responses, such as supplier development programs, can address structural SME constraints. This work is particularly relevant for policymakers, international organizations, private sector and business associations.

Green and just transition - policy levers and market mechanisms
Green and just transition: I focus on business environment policies for green and just transition. This includes support to research, choice of policy instruments, intervention sequencing, institutional capacity, and other support mechanisms for firms to remain competitive while implementing green measures and taking their workforce on this journey. This work is particularly relevant for policymakers, international organizations, and development partners.

Carbon markets and market-based climate instruments: I work with project developers on early-stage analysis and origination of climate mitigation initiatives, with attention to maximum CO2 reduction and social impact, integrity with recognized standards (such as Gold Standard), feasibility and cost-effectiveness.

Implementation across organizations and stakeholders
Implementation gaps are often institutional rather than technical.
I work with organizations designing and managing complex reform agendas or transition programs that require alignment across institutions and effective participation from firms, including SMEs, and policy and donor stakeholders. The emphasis is on translating policy and program objectives into reality, reflecting institutional capacity and firm-level constraints.
